Sponsored Research (SR) is the primary point of contact for faculty and administrators who are seeking external research grants from federal, state or local government agencies and support for writing grant proposals. SR approves and administers all pre- and post-award grant activities, including grant budgets. The office is located in the Health Science Building, room 427.

Requests for proposals to foundations, corporate or private sources should be directed to the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations for assistance. SR will assist faculty in identifying a potential funding source and preparing and submitting a proposal. All requests for corporate, foundation or private support must be approved in advance by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations, which has the responsibility for assuring that all such requests reflect the University's priorities and conform to the University's policies.

Duquesne University's research administration is governed by the Administrative Policy #44 "Research Proposals to Governmental, Corporate, Foundation and Private Sources."
