SR Library
SR maintains an up-to-date library of funding directories and guides that are available to faculty, administrators and staff. It is not necessary to make an appointment, but we do suggest that you call first (ext.6326), to ensure that the materials are accessible.

Periodicals and Newsletters
SR subscribes to several of the leading periodical publications announcing upcoming grant opportunities, including the following:
* Chronicle of Higher Education
* Directory of Grants in the Humanities
* Federal Assistance Monitor
* Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
* State Funding Opportunities
* The Grant Advisor Newsletter
* Federal Grants and Contracts Weekly
* Federal Research Report
As announcements of upcoming grant competitions appear in these periodicals, that information is forwarded to faculty in those fields.

Sponsored Programs Information Network
SR subscribes to this commercial database of funding opportunities. SPIN contains information on approximately 9,000 federal, state, and private funding sources and is searchable by keyword or by funding agency. The program is menu driven and user friendly. SPIN also has links to other sources of information about grant and contract opportunities, including The Commerce Business Daily, The Federal Register, DHHS GrantsNet, and the NSF Science and Technology Information System (STIS).
SPIN is available online. To access the network click on SPIN above. Help for working with SPIN is available from SR. SPIN Website

Research and Project Interests Questionnaire
Faculty who wish to have the SR staff conduct a funding source search for a particular project should complete a Funding Information Request Form PDF and submit it to Marianne Volk in the Office of Research. It is important to include a brief project description written in general terms (i.e., understandable to someone who is familiar with research, but not necessarily familiar with your particular field).
