Required

signatures for all proposals. University policy
requires that all proposals submitted, or grants transferred to the University, be approved by the
following:
* Department Chair or Program Director;
* Dean;

(SR will obtain this signature).
Cost Sharing
and Matching Funds

university cost share, the terms of the agreement
must be documented in writing and approved by
the PI's Department Chair, Dean , Associate Vice
President for Research or Provost in advance.
Conflict
of Interest
Duquesne University Administrative Policy
No. 33 sets forth procedures and guidelines
to be followed in resolving actual and potential
grant applicant's conflicts of financial interests
pertaining to grants and sponsored research projects.
AP 33 specifically addresses Conflicts of Financial
Interests, situations in which grant applicants
may have the opportunity to influence the University's
business decisions in ways that could lead to
personal gain or give improper advantage to themselves,
co-applicants (anyone involved in the design,
conduct and reporting of the research results),
or their spouses or dependents. To comply with
this administrative policy, a Conflict of Interest
Form
must be completed and signed by the PI for all
proposals sent to government agencies or a corporate
source.
Submission
Deadline
Completed proposals, accompanied by a signed transmittal
form, must be submitted to SR at least five working
days before the agency deadline. In the rare event
that a proposal cannot be submitted in time, the
faculty member assumes full responsibility for
submission of the proposal, including copying
and mailing.
SR staff will thoroughly review the proposal,
obtain the Associate Vice President for Research
signature, make all necessary copies, and mail
the proposal. A copy of the proposal and the signed
transmittal form will consequently be sent to
the PI, the respective Chair and Dean.
